falling asleep when the world is waking

a page from my computer "scrapbook". i got the photos from deviantart and various sites a while ago and i can't remember who the credits go to. but you know who you are and if you want credits just leave a comment. =)

spent friday night at my friend's house, just four of us girls hanging out and talking and laughing and eating and playing guitar hero and singing and going crazy till we finally got too tired to continue and settled down to sleep at 6am. a load of fun, as always.
today's the last day of holidays and then tomorrow it's back to school. i'll get to see prince charming again, but that's a small thing compared to the amount of work we'll be receiving since finals are coming up soon. time for me to remove my nail polish, search for my hairbrush, and ease headaches brought on by math homework. wish us luck!

sunday morning, rain is falling

yesterday we woke up at about five in the morning to go temple hopping, and i recommend you wake up early every single day, if you don't do so already. the cool morning air, driving down lonely roads because everyone's either still asleep or they're out of town (it was a public holiday yesterday, selamat hari raya!), watching the mist creep over the mountains as the sun comes up behind them. it's lonely in the morning, quiet, calm, peaceful. for a few hours, you and whoever you are with are the only people in the world.
the first week of holidays is almost over and i have nothing much to show for it, but i enjoyed it. teatime three times a day, wine red nails, good books, two loveable dogs, yoga, random messages from friends, the hibiscus plant giving out vibrant red flowers, charming conversations, big flower hair clips and french songs... yes, i'm happy.
by the way, recommendations for songs and bands to listen to would be much appreciated. french artistes and british indie bands preferably, like carla bruni and one night only! ah, bliss.
p/s: check out the trailer for the chronicles of narnia: the voyage of the dawn treader. absolutely epic.

holiday fever

picture credits to darou and Kredkowa on deviantart
raya holidays have officially begun, and though i haven't gone to school since tuesday (but tuesday was a public holiday anyway), it's a relief and a joy to know for sure that there won't be any school for two whole weeks. i could sing! i could dance! but i'll restrain myself... for now.
holiday plans include reading every book on my shelf (or as many as i can), sleeping over at my friend's house (always enjoyable), guzzling tea (i'm having some now, as a matter of fact), painting my nails (wine red, blood red), scrapbooking (absolutely addictive!), and generally letting loose to see where sixteen days of freedom takes us.

sugar

ah, life is sweet. i mean that literally. i think i feel the beginnings of an addiction to rock sugar coming on. my mum bought a packet as a treat for us and i can't seem to restrain myself from taking just that one more... and another... and another.
then there's trying to get sheri and rio to make friends -- he growls and snaps at her, so they're not exactly what you call best chums.
daydreaming about my prince charming. it doesn't help that miss sis is constantly watching disney princess videos and half the day i'm hearing giselle from enchanted "dreaming of a true love's kiss". can't say i don't understand the feeling though.
trying to find a way to watch 500 days of summer and my name is khan when our dvd player doesn't work. it hasn't for almost a year now, i think. at least, it feels that way.
dropping off to sleep every night listening to my favourite songs on my mp3 player. i often fall asleep listening to carla bruni's quelqu'un m'a dit, her voice is so lilting and dreamy.
guzzling tea as well, of course. my mum's starting to wonder if i'm becoming some sort of tea junkie.
awaiting the raya holidays impatiently. trying to lengthen it by finding some sort of excuse not to go to school; but that means i won't get to see "prince charming". hmm... maybe i should rethink the whole not-going-to-school thing.
whoops, there goes another rock sugar.
