lady gaga/angus and julia stone/mgmt/oh land

spending the day listening to music. on the bohemian musings blog i discovered this band called 'oh land', and they, along with mgmt, lady gaga and angus and julia stone, have been keeping me entertained today.

just got back from a sort of housewarming party at a friend's house today. outfit planning went haywire and what i meant to wear (flowy top with shorts and tights) ended up being something completely different but nice all the same (white top with star spangled vest, jeans and black fedora with silver embellishments). i'll have to work on integrating those tights into my wardrobe.

and yesterday my aunt bought me this beautiful owl ring, photos of it and other things in general to come, now that we have a camera!

am currently in the midst of my first monthly test of the year and while i should be studying, i can't resist a little musing, daydreaming and drifting. and blogging.

recently i came across this artist on youtube under the username cgsbgs who creates the most wonderful art using traditional methods (paint, pens) and digital methods. you should see his dragon work. absolutely beautiful. you can also check out his blog here, his deviantart here and his official website here. his name's chris scalf, by the way, and his life story (on his blog) touches your heart and makes you appreciate his talent even more, which is, to say the least, a whole lot.

how do you like the new blog design? i think it's my new hobby these days, redesigning the blog. i can't seem to settle on one look for long.

well, as you may know, i've become quite the crocheter lately. i like the idea of making my own clothes and bags and accessories and the creativity of coming up with my own designs is fun, to say the least.

so far, though, i haven't come up with any real patterns of my own. that, however, is going to change.

my first crochet design? fishnet leggings/legwarmers.

no pictures as of now, but i'll post some up as soon as i can figure out a decent way to connect the rounds seamlessly...

when you're fifteen

so! today's my birthday and it's been a wonderful one. our whole family has been in malacca since wednesday for chinese new year, and this is where i am celebrating my birthday this year.

i've gotten the most wonderful presents, including a dalmatian-pattern beret, a tartan scarf, some cash and a notebook to write down my thoughts, ideas, poetry and lyrics. my grandmother also made me the most delicious apple cinnamon cake with icing and sweets on top.

i am one happy girl.
